We haven’t done this in a while, and this time beyond the basic question – Where in the beer world was this photo taken? – there’s a second: What’s that in the foreground?
That landmark in the background should make it relatively easy to figure out the location.
So a two-parter. As always, leave your answer as a comment.
I’d guess that is an open fermentation happening at the Logsdon Brewery near Hood River
I guess I should have said spontaneous fermentation/inoculation instead of open fermentation. You know what I mean
Since I know that well, I’ll stay mum and say: glad you had a good view. Hood-san is one of the most elegant peaks in the world (I say, objectively), and we are fortunate to get to see it so often.
Lake Town Brewing Company just outside of Esgaroth; a lovely view of Erebor!
Good clarification, James.
Chuck Porter, Dave Logsdon’s partner, ran a bit ofwort in their mini-coolship for the first time after Friday’s brew. He covered it with cheesecloth. The plans are to add a larger coolship in the brewery attic.
I haven’t made it over there yet, but one of these days on the drive over to Portland we will have to stop by.
