This photo was taken in 2006 at the St. Louis Brewery production brewery in Maplewood, also known at Bottleworks.
This device, made from an old hose tray, was an attempt to find a more efficient way to dry hop Schlafly’s Dry Hopped American Pale Ale. It didn’t work (too much oxygen uptake), but led to finding a better process for dry hopping the APA and also the American IPA that followed.
The contraption was later stolen. No idea what the thieves planned to use it for.
So you tried to trick the thief into saying, it’s in my basement!
