Do you think you know where in the beer world this photo was taken?
If you’ve been paying attention it should be a gimme, but I think the picture is semi-pretty and there’s a lesson about drinking culture to be learned.
So if you think you know the city or state please leave your answer as a comment. Extra credit if you can be more specific.
I’m gonna say Preservation Hall in New Orleans.
The question is what kind of beer is in the bag?
Well done, Neal.
I know the answer. This was taken during the Barkus (dog) parade in the Quarter. Lots of Blue Moon White and Bud Light bottles on display, but those were the people who brought their own.
This was from a nearby store (thus the bag). Could have been Flying Dog, because that’s readily available, but that’s not local.
Local and a lager. Care to guess?
Dixie? If that’s really local anymore.
If not, Abita somethingorother?
I like the Flying Dog appropriateness to the parade.
Um, and since you know what’s in said brown bag Stan, is the picture, perhaps, posed?

Not exactly posed. I put my bottle down (the one we are looking at) to try to get some pictures of dogs in the parade. Anarchy ruled. Spectator dogs made it even crazier.
I finished the bottle and took much the same picture (except you could see a drum behind the window).
The beer: Abita Spring Bock.
“The beer: Abita Spring Bock.”
And? Good Helles Bock? Lake Front’s “Big Easy” (odd name for a German style Bock, but fits this thread) is damn fine this year.
