I can tell you that three months into paying attention to all things local, not just beer, it&#8217;s possible to spend too much time thinking about this. Take a break and enjoy the beer, local or otherwise.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The <em>Wall Street Journal<\/em> recently joined the <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB121875168060042349.html?mod=googlenews_wsj\">marketing to women discussion<\/a> which has already already consumed <a href=\"http:\/\/appellationbeer.com\/blog\/women-and-beer-lets-ask-a-woman\/\">plenty of space here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>But you have to smile when you read that Coors &#8220;set up a unit code-named Eve this year to develop beer brands and marketing techniques appealing to women. The unit&#8217;s mission, the company says, is to create &#8216;a world where women love beer as much as they love shoes.'&#8221; What beer has been assigned that task? <strong>Blue Moon.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <strong>This is what beer is about:<\/strong> Beer Babe eventually gets around to drinking <a href=\"http:\/\/beer-babe.blogspot.com\/2008\/08\/boston-misadventures-shock-top-belgian.html\">Shock Top Belgian White<\/a> (a Blue Moon knock-off, as a matter of fact). <\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <strong>This is where beer need not go:<\/strong> A fictitious restaurant captured a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence with a <a href=\"http:\/\/osterialintrepido.wordpress.com\/2008\/08\/15\/what-does-it-take-to-get-a-wine-spectator-award-of-excellence\/\">fictitious wine list.<\/a> Quite a mess in the wine world (reading <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vinography.com\/archives\/2008\/08\/wine_spectator_restaurant_awar.html\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/forums.winespectator.com\/eve\/forums\/a\/tpc\/f\/6826053161\/m\/835102245\">here<\/a> will be enough to make your head explode).<\/p>\n<p>The news to me is that there&#8217;s an organization called the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.winesandvines.com\/template.cfm?section=news&#038;content=57843\">American Association of Wine Economists<\/a>.
