Of them, only 26 of them had published a new post in the last month. For many it was more like years since the last post. Sure, I should be embarrassed that I lousy job I do curating the list, but that is not the point.<\/p>\n<p>In the 13 or so years I\u2019ve intermittently posted links on Monday I\u2019ve always looked beyond blogs, and beyond beer stories for that matter, for interesting items to pass along. If you are disappointed that I don\u2019t point to more beer blogs, well, so am I. But let\u2019s face it. Beer blogs are dead. That is why you are not reading this.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2018Drinking buddies\u2019 &#8211; 8 years later<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/huggingthebar.substack.com\/p\/19-an-eight-year-late-hangover-from\">Hard truths.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201c(The movie) captures so much of what\u2019s been wrong with craft beer culture that we\u2019re literally only starting to confront right now. These ideas of there being such in-demand breweries that people who brew there can act however they want; that you should want to work at those breweries so badly you\u2019d be willing to put up with anything; that because it\u2019s a brewery, basic workplace behavior expectations don\u2019t apply and people can drink and make women feel objectified and even threatened . . . these elements were all there all along, hidden under the haze of us all viewing craft beer like this bohemian, artistic, no-rules beast, where we didn\u2019t have to closely examine anyone\u2019s behavior because everyone was supposedly united under this pious goal of sticking it to Big Beer.\u201d<br \/>\n<strong>[From <a href=\"https:\/\/huggingthebar.substack.com\/p\/19-an-eight-year-late-hangover-from\">Hugging the Bar,<\/a> a newsletter you should be reading.]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Whoa!<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A pretty swift transformation from the days of being called Fat Tire <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/EYLWAsmlXt\">https:\/\/t.co\/EYLWAsmlXt<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Beer Cruncher ?? He\u2019s seeking to insulate AB InBev against a stagnant performance in beer by doubling down on the company\u2019s more nascent Cutwater Spirits canned cocktails, canned wine, e-commerce platforms and energy drink brands.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Acidity<\/strong><br \/>\nThis is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pix.wine\/the-drop\/know-acid-differences\/\">a story about wine,<\/a> but there are beer lessons to be learned. Including this:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOften, high levels of acetic acid are accompanied by an excess of another volatile molecule, ethyl acetate. It has the pungent aroma of nail polish remover . . . <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt high concentrations, these volatile compounds conspire to make a wine that\u2019s aromatically distracting at best and downright unpleasant at worst. Elevated levels can even deliver a burning sensation in the throat.\u201d <\/p>\n<p><strong>Change is constant<\/strong><br \/>\nDijon mustard producer Grey Poupon has released a white wine that is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winespectator.com\/articles\/pardon-me-would-you-have-any-grey-poupon-wine\">infused with Grey Poupon mustard seeds,<\/a> along with honeysuckle.
