{"id":1484,"date":"2009-05-05T07:06:43","date_gmt":"2009-05-05T14:06:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/appellationbeer.com\/blog\/?p=1484"},"modified":"2009-05-05T07:06:43","modified_gmt":"2009-05-05T14:06:43","slug":"american-craft-beer-week-on-facebook","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/appellationbeer.com\/blog\/american-craft-beer-week-on-facebook\/","title":{"rendered":"American Craft Beer Week on Facebook"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As I type this nearly 5,000 Facebook members have signed up as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/American-Craft-Beer-Week\/66117963840?ref=mf\">fans of American Craft Beer Week.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not sure that&#8217;s a lot but the number surely will go higher. And the &#8220;Declaration of Beer Independence&#8221; is bound to get more attention. (I&#8217;ve already written I&#8217;m delighted to focus on where a beer is brewed and who brews it, but I also think part of independence means people get to drink whatever they want, even Bud Light Lime . . . or is it Bud Lime Light?)<\/p>\n<p>A quick historical note: Had <a href=\"http:\/\/www.realbeer.com\/edu\/abm\/\">American Beer Month<\/a> remained American Beer <em>Month<\/em> this July (because that&#8217;s when it was held before it became Craft Beer <em>Week<\/em>) we&#8217;d be celebrating its 10th anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>The Facebook page looks like the best way anybody has come up with so far to let more people know about this not-so-new idea, so maybe more people will join in the celebration. We&#8217;ll see. Actually, you&#8217;ll see. We&#8217;re going to be busy celebrating America itself.
