@SteveH

Just wait for the federal excise tax going though the Senate Finance Committee takes effect - We will all be paying a bit more. Plus, here in Mass we will have a new 6.5% sales tax on the good stuff, which is a shame considering all the local breweries in the state that will be losing business as a result.

"I find it hard to believe that sales of beer that costs far more than people were paying a few short years ago can continue to be so robust given the current economy"

I thought about this statement yesterday as I was looking for a single bottle (.5L or 22 ouncer) to enjoy on a sultry Wednesday afternoon. Some of the singles were priced more than six packs -- and I just couldn't bring myself to buy a 22 oz. IPA for $9, let alone something Belgian-like for $11 or $12. It really is getting crazy.

“We’re big (Frank) Zappa fans here. I think Zappa’s music is a lot like our styles.”

Funny how Frank's influences have permeated the the beer world; his cousin is brewmaster at Point Brewing in Steven's Point, WI and the lagering tanks at Capital Brewing (also in WI) have been decorated and named for Zappa songs for over 20 years.
