'Ey! We Cardinals fans enjoy all aspects of the game and can appreciate excellence when we see it. Heck, even Bears fans covet(ed) Favre. ;)

The brewer who made Bushwakker famous, David Rudge, started up his own place in Winnipeg. Half Pints Brewing.

FYI and all.

Dad was born near Regina which is why that area's beer culture was always of interest to me.

Cheers!

Mark - I almost feel like a bad person because your story cheered me up. We drank Hop Head IPA from Tree Brewing to drown our sorrows, so basically a happy ending.

Wow, that sucks, I totally forgot about our "no minors" brewpub laws. Some have gotten around this rule by splitting their seating into "restaurant" and "pub" sections. The Bushwakker also tapped a special firkin that night of Vanilla Espresso Porter.

If it's any consolation, I didn't make it down there either, as my band was playing in a small, no a/c bar where the best thing on tap was Heineken. It was so hot on stage that I nearly blacked out from heat exhaustion/dehydration (no joke, I became disoriented and stumbled a couple times, I guess I should have chugged 3 pints during our 30 minute set like our lead guitar player did). And then I fell down the wobbly, uneven stage stairs while carrying my speaker cabinet off the stage. Fortunately I didn't sprain my ankle too badly, I've just been sore all over for the last couple days.

Re: the Mt. Rushmore of Beer, there's so many subcategories that could fit into as well. Beer writers (American, British, overall); extreme brewers; state-by-state; etc. Of course we would all have too much fun debating the various topics and the blogosphere would implode.

Stan, could Sierra go into an herb store and buy an alcohol based tincture?
Could she go into a grocery store and buy vanilla extract? Can she go into these stores with alcohol products and not into a brew pub?
