I recommend going via Missoula, Mont., and visiting Bayern Brewing's tasting room. I have not been there; but, Bayern Pilsener is the best bottled pilsener I have found within a sustainable radius after an extensive search.

Due to Bayern Pilsener I have defined 'local' as a long days drive, 600 miles.

From their website, they do six year round and 5 seasonal beers. Further two of their four brewmeisters were trained in Germany.
