The bathrooms at Sam’s Tap Room and Kitchen, which is the tap room for Red Lodge Ales Brewing Co. in the Montana town of Red Lodge, has glass holders like this one in both the men’s and women’s bathrooms.
The holders — set beside the toilets, the urinals and the sink — hold both large and small glasses. I don’t usually carry my glass with me into the bathroom, but it appears some people do.
Red Lodge Ales has the largest solar thermal array in the state of Montana up on the roof. That warms water to heat the brewery in winter (radiant floors) provides warm process water in the summer. The beer garden faces the mountains and hops plants decorate the garden walls (in season).
Did I mention the sampler trays are cool? They are. None of these delightful amenities would matter, of course, if the beer weren’t pretty damn good. It is.
Unfortunately, it breaks rule#1 for bringing your glass into the toilet… don’t set it down.
So instead of the cool sampler trays, you give us a picture of a urinal? Curious choice, Stan.
You know, I would observe that is is a very environmentally friendly urinal. But it shares an odd characteristic with those I found at Dark Horse Brewing of Marshall Michigan. Is it mounted at ankle level? What is up with that?
We are talking about urinals, right?
Who in their right mind would bring food or drink into a toilet? And why?
Alan – Sorry, I didn’t take a picture that showed more. I just wanted to show the glass and the urinal. Hanging around in a bathroom with a camera seems a little strange. Looked like a pretty basic urinal (height, etc.) to me.
I’d love to have the time to go back but we’re now down in Wyoming for the wedding, after all (and the reception will have 22 beers on tap, including plenty of Red Lodge beers – a nephew to be proud of).
