I finally got one! :D My colleagues are planning a trip into the Münster Weihnachtsmarkt this evening for what is apparentlay a tradition for the hardcore staff. Something that involces sugar loaves, rum, fire and lots of alcohol. I'm intrigued, but not sure if I could last this legendary (as it was described to me) night. You gotta love they way they do things here sometimes :) Yay! I finally got one! :D

My colleagues are planning a trip into the Münster Weihnachtsmarkt this evening for what is apparentlay a tradition for the hardcore staff. It was cold and rainy/snowy but the grounds were packed. It is more "winter festival/bazaar" than kindlmarkt, of which there are plenty in Munich. The one at Marienplatz was totally packed all weekend, but my favorite was a market a few blocks away, a krippen market, specializing in natvity scenes. Just thought you guys would want to see the Oktoberfest grounds full of tents and people in December. A quick aside: Berlin has 50 Christmas markets. Yep, the photo was taken Sunday at the Theresienwiese. It was cold and rainy/snowy but the grounds were packed.

I’d have to agree there — our Chicago Markt usually has a (semi) local brewery supplying their Winter Lager — Sprecher from Milwaukee, along with HB Munich brews and a local winery’s Gluehwein.

Still, it's drinkable, just bloody boring (it might be a north German thing) :) I'll find out over the next week or so.
